Day 8 - September 10th, 2010 Regina, SK - Whitecourt, AB

More wind and rain greet us this morning. Fields of amber grain mark the windy miles (kilometers) as we travel to Alberta. The unseasonably cooler temperatures set off the show of fall colors - orange, red and golden trees line our path. We see periodic breaks in the trees of boggy wetland areas, lots of hawks hunting in the open space along the road, and pairs of magpies flitting from tree to tree. Orzo, still afraid of the windshield wipers, spends the balance of the day underneath the seat of the truck.
We make it to Whitecourt, Alberta in time to witness the setting sun turning the sky various shades of purple, red and orange. We walk from our hotel to dinner past a factory spewing smoke into the sky over this industrial town. The particulates in the air adding to the drama of the sunset. Beauty can be found anywhere and in anything.
